Today I headed out for a walk. I've been trying for 2 miles daily and it was going to rain soon so I thought I'd go early. I headed to my neighborhood park because it's pretty there, I could see the sky (which I love to watch), and I could walk with my headphones on listening to a book but not walk in front of a car. These things are important.
I made it to the first turn and there were the most beautiful flowers and foliage distracting me. I'm always drawn to the large, evenly spaced leaves of common milkweed among so many other grasses and thinner leaved companions. The gorgeous blooms were globes of pink hues made by clusters of tiny flowers; each one intricate and perfect.
On that one plant I saw rest and work. I saw shelter and food. I saw give and take. I saw strength and order and beauty. Beauty... that's exactly what my soul, and your soul, were made to crave. Crouched there with my camera, I saw an entire tiny world made perfectly and doing exactly as it was made to do.
"And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you."
Luke 12:28 NLT
Praise God for this beautiful moment crouched in front of a milkweed plant at just the right moment to see and be a part of His wonders.
